Board Members

Craig DrummondChairman and Independent Non-Executive DirectorBCom (Melb), SF FIN, FCA

Non-Executive Chairman of the Company’s subsidiary, Australian Investment Company Services Limited (AICS). Chairman of the Investment and Nomination Committees. Member of the Audit and Remuneration Committee.


Mr Drummond was appointed to the Board in July 2021. He is the President of the Geelong Football Club Limited, Chairman of Transurban Co Ltd and a Governor of The Ian Potter Foundation.


Craig was a member of the Financial Regulator Assessment Authority from 10 September 2021 to 30 June 2023. Craig served as Chief Executive Officer of Medibank from July 2016 to May 2021. Prior to joining Medibank, Craig was Group Executive Finance and Strategy of National Australia Bank (NAB), and Chief Executive Officer and Country Head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch (Australia). Earlier in his career, Craig held roles at Goldman Sachs JBWere including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman.

Mark FreemanManaging DirectorBE, MBA, Grad Dip App Fin (Sec Inst), AMP (INSEAD)

Member of the Investment and Nomination Committees. Managing Director of the Company’s subsidiary, Australian Investment Company Services Limited (AICS).


Mr Freeman became Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director in January 2018 having been Chief Investment Officer since joining the Company in February 2007. Prior to this he was a Partner with Goldman Sachs JBWere where he spent 12 years advising the Investment Companies on their investment and dealing activities. He has a deep knowledge and experience of investments markets and the Company’s approaches, policies and processes. He is also Managing Director of Djerriwarrh Investments Limited, AMCIL Limited and Mirrabooka Investments Limited.

Rebecca Dee-BradburyIndependent Non-Executive DirectorBBus, GAICD

Member of the Investment, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.


Ms Dee-Bradbury was appointed to the Board in May 2019. Ms Dee-Bradbury was previously Chief Executive Officer/President of Developed Markets (Asia Pacific and ANZ) for Mondelez from 2010 to 2014. Before joining Mondelez Ms Dee-Bradbury was Group CEO of the global Barbeques Galore group, and has held other senior executive roles in organisations including Maxxium, Burger King Corporation and Lion Nathan/Pepsi Cola Bottlers. Ms Dee-Bradbury is a Non-Executive Director of
Bapcor Limited (appointed in September 2023), BlueScope Steel Limited (appointed April 2014), a Director of Energy Australia Holdings following her appointment in April 2017 and a member of Chief Executive Women and of the Women Corporate Directors Foundation. Ms Dee-Bradbury was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Grain Corp Limited (from 2014 to 2020) and Tower Limited (NZ) until her resignation in 2016 and a former member of the Federal Government's Asian Century Strategic Advisory Board.

Julie FaheyIndependent Non-Executive DirectorBAS

Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Investment and Nomination Committees.


Ms Fahey was appointed to the Board in April 2021. She has over 30 years of experience in technology, including in major organisations such as Western Mining, Exxon, Roy Morgan, General Motors and SAP, covering consulting, software vendor and Chief Information Officer roles. In addition to her industry experience, Julie spent 10 years at KPMG as a partner with the firm, during which time she held roles as National Lead Partner Telecommunications, Media and Technology, and National Managing Partner - Markets. Julie was also a member of the KPMG National Executive Committee.


Julie is a non-executive director of RESS Limited and Datacom and a member of the Australian Red Cross LifeBlood board. Julie was formerly a non-executive director of Seek Limited, Vocus, Partnerslife and Cenitex and formerly a member of the Latrobe University Council.

Katie HudsonIndependent Non-Executive DirectorBCom (Melb)

Ms Hudson was appointed to the Board in January 2024. Katie is a portfolio manager for Yarra Capital Management focused on the small and midcap universe and, in addition, serves as Yarra Capital's Head of Australian Equities Research.


Katie has more than 20 years of experience in investment markets, including roles as an equities research analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to transitioning to Yarra Capital Management, Katie was a portfolio manager and managing director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and has previously worked as an equities analyst and partner at JBWere. Prior to this Katie spent seven years at PwC where she was a senior manager primarily focused on mergers and acquisitions advisory and transaction support.


Katie is currently a director of Yarra Capital Management and the Hawthorn Football Club.


Graeme R LiebeltIndependent Non-Executive DirectorBEc (Hons), FAICD FTSE

Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Investment and Nomination Committees.


Mr Liebelt was appointed to the Board in June 2012. He is Chairman of Amcor Limited. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was formerly a Director of Carey Baptist Grammar School, Chairman and Director of DuluxGroup Limited, Chairman and Director of the Global Foundation, Deputy Chairman of Melbourne Business School, Managing Director and CEO of Orica Limited and Director of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited.

Richard MurrayIndependent Non-Executive DirectorB.Comm, Grad.Dip. Applied Finance & Investment, FCA

Mr Murray was appointed to the Board in January 2024.


He has recently been appointed as CEO of Total Tools Holdings, commencing at the end of January 2024.


Prior to this, his most recent executive role was as CEO and Executive Director of Premier Investments, a major ASX-listed owner of retail brands such as Smiggle, Just Jeans, Peter Alexander, Dotti and Portmans.


Before his role at Premier Investments, Richard was the Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of JB Hi-Fi, the major electronic and white-goods retailer. He had an 18-year career at JB Hi-Fi, including as Chief Financial Officer, taking the business through the IPO process. Prior to that he had roles for 10 years in the Corporate Finance and Assurance and Advisory practices at Deloitte.



David A PeeverIndependent Non-Executive DirectorBEc MSC (Mineral Economics)

Member of the Audit, Investment and Nomination Committees. Representative director on the Board of Australian Investment Company Services Limited.


Mr Peever was appointed to the Board in November 2013. He was Managing Director of Rio Tinto Australia from 2009 to 2014. He is Chairman of Brisbane Airport Group Pty Ltd. He chaired the Minister of Defence’s First Principles Review of Defence and following the acceptance of the review by Government was Chair of the Oversight Board which helped guide implementation (with Defence) of the Review’s recommendations. David was a Non-Executive Chairman of Naval Group Australia, a former member of the Foreign Investment Review Board, a former Chair of Cricket Australia and a former Director of the Stars Foundation, a not for profit body which promotes education of Indigenous girls and also a former Vice Chairman of the Minerals Council of Australia and was a Director of the Business Council of Australia.

Executive Team

Geoffrey N DriverGeneral Manager Business Development and Investor RelationsBEc, Grad Dip Finance, MAICD

Mr Driver joined the Company in January 2003. Previously, he was with National Australia Bank Ltd for 18 years in various roles covering business strategy, marketing, distribution, investor relations and business operations. Mr Driver was formerly Chairman of Trust for Nature (Victoria).

Andrew JB PorterChief Financial Officer/Company SecretaryMA (Hons) (St And), FCA, MAICD

Mr Porter joined the Company in January 2005. He is a Chartered Accountant and has had over 25 years experience in accounting and financial management both in the United Kingdom with Andersen Consulting and Credit Suisse First Boston, and in Australia where he was Regional Chief Operating Officer for the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of CSFB. He is a Director of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB) and a Director of the Anglican Foundation. Mr Porter is a former Chair of The Group of 100 (G100), the peak body for CFOs.

Matthew J RoweCompany SecretaryBA (Hons), MSc Corp Gov, FGIA, FCG

Mr Rowe joined the Company in July 2016. He is a Chartered Secretary with over 18 years of experience in corporate governance with a particular focus in listed investment companies. He was previously a corporate governance advisor at a professional services firm which included acting as Company Secretary for three ASX listed companies. Prior to that Matthew was the Company Secretarial Manager for a Funds Management company based in the UK.

Investment Team

David GracePortfolio Manager

David commenced with the group in 2018 as a Portfolio Manager. David has 15 years portfolio management experience having co-founded Concise Asset Management in 2007, which was a specialised midcap Australian equities manager.


David holds a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Applied Finance.

Kieran KennedyPortfolio Manager

Kieran has over 18 years’ experience with the group, having commenced in 2001, initially in an Accounting role. He relocated to London to continue working in the financial services industry in 2005.


Upon his return in 2006, Kieran commenced his current focus on researching emerging and midcap companies. He progressed to Portfolio Management responsibilities in 2018.


Kieran holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University, and is a CPA and CFA charterholder.

Brett McNeillPortfolio ManagerBEcon, CFA

Brett joined the group in October 2019 as a Portfolio Manager.


Brett has over 18 years of Investment Experience. Prior to joining AFIC, Brett spent 14 years at Antares Capital (previously called Portfolio Partners and Aviva Investors) as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst.


Brett holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) and is a CFA Charterholder.

Rosie MalcolmPortfolio Manager

Rosie joined the group in January 2021 as a Portfolio Manager.


Rosie has over 22 years of experience in financial markets. She began her career at Goldman Sachs where she spent 15 years across a variety of roles including as an Equities Analyst and as an Investment Banker, located in Sydney and New York. She joined Foglamp Capital in New York as an Equities Analyst in 2013 before returning to Sydney with Magellan Asset Management in 2017 where she was a Portfolio Manager and Head of Franchises. Rosie’s career has been focused on international equities.


Rosie has a Bachelor of Business (Honours) with majors in Finance & Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney. She graduated with First Class Honours and the University Medal. She is also a CFA Charterholder.

Andrew SutherlandPortfolio Manager

Andrew commenced working for the group in 2019. He has over 28 years of Investment experience. Over his career, as an analyst, Andrew covered both Australian and International Equity Sectors, and has 8 years of portfolio management experience. Prior to joining AFIC, Andrew spent 17 years with Perennial Growth which was subsequently acquired by Janus Henderson Investors.


Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, a post graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from the Securities Institute of Australia and is a CFA charterholder.

Jaye GuyInvestment Analyst

Jaye joined the group in 2021 as an Investment Analyst and has 9 years of industry experience. Prior to joining, Jaye most recently worked as an Investment Analyst at Myer Family Investments focussed on Australian equities and Asian fund/equities.


Jaye holds a Master of Applied Finance from Monash University and a Bachelor of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Business (Property) from University of South Australia.

Olga KosciuczykInvestment Analyst

Olga joined the group in 2018 as an Investment Analyst and has 7 years of industry experience. Prior to joining, Olga most recently was an Investment Analyst at Ralton Asset Management focussed on Australian equities.


Olga holds a Master of Finance from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance from Warsaw School of Economics and is a CFA charterholder.

Stuart LowInvestment Analyst

Stuart has over 17 years in financial services. He joined the group in 2016 and prior to that he spent 2 years as an analyst and PM at JM Financial and previous to that was 10 years in Institutional Research Sales at Bell Potter and Austock.


Stuart holds a Bachelor Commerce - University of Melbourne, Graduate Diploma Applied Finance and Investment – FINSIA.

Jeremy MooreDealer

Jeremy has 20 years in industry experience, joining the group in 2001 in the finance and operations team. He transferred into the investment team working originally as an investment analyst for several years before becoming the Dealer for the 4 LICs.


Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Economics and Graduate Diploma Applied Finance and Investment - FINSIA. He has also completed ASX accredited derivatives courses and has many years of experience in the options markets.

Gilbert BattistellaGraduate Investment Analyst

Gilbert interned with the group in 2019, then commenced working full-time in 2020 after completing his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne (Accounting and Finance Major). At university, he was the President of the University Network for Investing and Trading, and interned at VP Capital and Deloitte (Private).
